EMS is an international postal Express Mail Service offered by postal-administration members of the Universal Postal Union. Express mail is a service for domestic mail and is governed by a country's own postal administration & since 1998 the international accelerated delivery services are governed by the EMS Cooperative. Express Mail Service (EMS) is an international express postal service which delivers through local postal network of different countries. Online tracking is possible for most countries of EMS network. EMS is an international postal Express Mail Service offered by postal-administration members of the Universal Postal Union (UPU). The UPU, a specialized agency of the United Nations, promotes the harmonization of postal services worldwide. Service is at par with most reputed international couriers. It delivers to most countries within 7 to 10 days and is much economical than couriers for letters and small parcels. While most reputed couriers also take a week or more to deliver international parcels but they may cost up to twice as much .The only problem is you cannot send multi piece shipment. Each packet /parcel is taken and charged separately for minimum applicable charges. So it is better to make a single bundle of items wherever possible. USPS (United States Postal Service) also offers EMS but calls this service Express Mail International, previously called Global Express Mail.
